Dirk represents the 159th district in Missouri House of Representatives.

Dirk became the Republican nominee for the 159th district on August 7, 2018, after winning the Republican primary election. On November 6, 2018, Dirk was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives after winning the general election with over 81% of the vote. Dirk was re-elected to the House in 2020 and 2022.

Dirk is the past president of the McDonald County Republican Club, his term ending in December 2017. During Dirk’s time leading the Club it was one of the most active political groups in all of Southwest Missouri. During his time as president, Republicans held every elective county office. In 2016, he championed the party’s local efforts, which led to historic margins of victory. McDonald County was among the highest performing Republican counties in the state.

In 2011, Dirk co-founded the Noel Betterment Association, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, civic group; created for the betterment of the local community. Dirk served as Chairman of the Board from 2013 until he completed his final term at the end of 2016.

Dirk is a life-long resident of McDonald County where he attended public school at Noel Elementary and was then educated at home through the completion of high school. After high school, Dirk graduated from college in less than four years while working full-time and paying his way through school. Dirk earned his bachelor degree with honors from Liberty University. Dirk also attended Crowder College and Missouri Southern State University.

For over the past decade Dirk has been involved in gospel ministry, preaching hundreds of times throughout the local area, and he continues to do so on a regular basis. Previous to seeking elective office, Dirk worked for a small Southwest Missouri manufacturer. Dirk and his wife, Nikki, reside in rural Noel.
